Classes that do not meet the Minimum Attendance Requirements 45 days in advance will be cancelled.
This 5-day Welding Instructor Train the Trainer course is designed for instructors who will be administering welding courses. The course will give the participants the basic knowledge and skills needed to instruct members in the following processes: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). The instructor will also gain knowledge on corrective measures to help students while welding. Participants will learn best practices for performing a welder qualification test and identifying welding defects.
Required Materials:
- Welding Hood
- Welding Jacket
- Welding Gloves
Attendees must wear appropriate work clothes inside the UBC International Training Center: long pants (no shorts), shirts with sleeves, leather shoes (no tennis shoes or sandals) or leather work boots (boots required for all workshops with hands-on training), no torn or wore-out clothing and no clothing with objectionable sayings.
