Non-Destructive Testing (Member Training)


This 5-day training course will meet ASNT STN TC1A.

Training will be conducted in two separate disciplines: Magnetic Particle Level I/II and Liquid Penetrant Level I/II.

In the area of Magnetic Particle Level I/II, training will cover but is not limited Theory of Magnetic Particle, Principles, MT Systems, Test Techniques, Test Equipment, Types of Discontinuities Detected, Interpretation, Test procedures, Codes and Specifications, and Accept/Reject Criteria.

In the area of Liquid Penetrant Level I/II, training will cover but is not limited to Theory of Liquid Penetrant, Principles, PT Systems, Test Techniques, Test Equipment, Types of Discontinuities Detected, Interpretation, Test procedures, Codes and Specifications, and Accept/Reject Criteria.

An examination will be completed on the fifth day. Home study is required.

Please bring work clothes, gloves, and work boots to the workshop.

Attendees must wear appropriate work clothes inside the UBC International Training Center: long pants (no shorts), shirts with sleeves, leather shoes (no tennis shoes or sandals) or leather work boots (boots required for all workshops with hands-on training), no torn or wore-out clothing and no clothing with objectionable sayings.
