The Canadian District has a unique and specific plan for Scaffold Training in Canada. The UBCJA Cnd District Scaffold apprenticeship program is a 4-year, apprenticeship style program with specific training modules at each level and accompanying trade hours.

This five-day seminar will follow a train the trainer outline of the required modules in each of the four levels, including a practice build of the final testing projects per level.  The focus will be on learning the sequence of instruction for the 4-year program, use of the UBC Scaffold Textbook and instructor guides, and resources, including the Canadian CSA Z797-18 Code of Practice for Access Scaffold.  During the overall 4-year. program, the students will learn proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, hand and power tool safety, basic Carpentry techniques, and safe erection and dismantling of different types of commercial and industrial scaffold. In Canada this includes Tube and Clamp, System and Modular Scaffold, and Welded Frame.

Qualified Scaffold Instructors should have strong knowledge of all aspects of the Scaffold industry and basic Carpentry skills. Previous participation in the Scaffold Qualification TTT is an asset.   Instructors will require their steel toed boots for this five days as there will be hands on components in the delivery.  Completion of this course will allow Canadian Instructors to teach the Canadian Scaffold Apprenticeship Program.
