Participants will learn about the employer's
responsibility to keep workers safe while performing machine and equipment
maintenance. This involves creating and following a lock-out/tag-out (LOTO)
energy control program. Participants will also learn how to spot dangerous
situations and take steps to control them. The course will help students
develop their energy control programs, including writing down safety
procedures, training employees, and regularly checking procedures. Topics covered
include understanding OSHA's rules, different types of hazardous energy, safety
procedures, and training guidelines.
This workshop will cover:
- OSHA role and responsibilities
- Identify different types of hazardous energy and their potential risks.
- Create a lockout/tagout plan/program that includes safety procedures.
- Training that is required by the employer on safety procedures and LOTO practices.
- Check and update LOTO procedures to ensure compliance with the standards.
