AWS Certified Welding Inspector D1.1 Workshop & Exam

10 Day Workshop & Exam Registration DEADLINE: August 1, 2022

Application & Eye Exam DEADLINE: August 1, 2022

This workshop taught by the American Welding Society will train and test UBC instructors using the D1.1 welding code. This ten day workshop consists of eight days of seminar; on day 9 students will go offsite to take the two written parts of the exam, and day 10 is the hands on test here at the CITF. A shuttle will be provided for the offsite testing. The test on day 9 will be done on computers and you will be given your score before you leave the test center. You must bring a picture ID to the test center.

Instructors who pass this workshop can certify candidates to any AWS recognized welding codes. Participants must attend the entire eight days of seminar to be eligible to take the exam

AWS application: Click on “AWS Application Form” and “Instructions to fill out AWS application” under the Documents section below to save/download the file. Please follow the instructions closely. The following items must be sent to the CITF by the deadline:

  • Application Form
  • Letter from your Local Union signed by the Business Manager
  • Eye exam (must be within 1 year of the CWI exam)
  •  Passport photo
  • Notarized testimonial
  •       Color scan of Govt. ID

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector 72 Hour Seminar (CITF)
  • AWS  Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or AWS Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI)
