AWS Certified Welding Inspector D1.1 Workshop & Exam

Classes that do not meet the Minimum Attendance Requirements 45 days in advance will be cancelled.

This workshop taught by the American Welding Society will train and test UBC instructors using the D1.1 welding code. This ten day workshop consists of nine days of seminar; day 10 is the hands on test here at the CITF. The written tests will be scheduled by the participants and taken at a testing center in their home area. You must bring a picture ID to the test center.

Instructors who pass this workshop can certify candidates to any AWS recognized welding codes. Participants must attend the entire nine days of seminar to be eligible to take the exam. 

AWS application: Click on “2024 AWS Application Form” and “2024 AWS Application Instructions” under the Documents section below to save/download the file. Please follow the instructions closely. The following items must be sent to the CITF by the deadline:

• Application Form
  
• Test results release form
• Letter from your Local Union signed by the Business Manager
  
• Eye exam (must be within 1 year of the CWI exam)
• Passport photo
•       Color scan of Govt. ID
