WFED 207 - Assessment Techniques

Classes that do not meet the Minimum Attendance Requirements 45 days in advance will be cancelled.

The minimum number of participants for the WFED 207 course is:6

Prerequisites: 

Workforce Education 105 (WFED 105) and 

Workforce Education 106 (WFED 106) 

WFED 105, WFED 106, and WFED 207 should be completed in numerical sequence.

3-Day class, Plus, Distance Learning Lessons Course 

Designed to assist instructors in evaluating students activities and skill development as they prepare for careers in construction through a system of fair, consistent, and reliable assessment. Topics include the role of measurement and evaluation in the training program, types of assessment activities, construction of classroom tests, laboratory evaluation measures, and interpreting results. As a result of successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 

• Identify the role of measurement in the training process as a means of determining instructional effectiveness and improving instruction
  
• Determine the role of testing in the instructional process
  
• Integrate testing in the instructional process
  
• Develop teacher-generated written tests that can effectively measure the instructional objectives of the unit of instruction
  
• Construct tests using selected-response and constructed-response items that meet the instructional objectives
  
• Design, construct, and administer classroom testing that meets the instructional objectives being taught
  
• Design, construct, and administer performance testing that meets the instructional objectives set forth
  
• Determine the reliability and validity of instructor made exams
  
• Interpret the results of exams administered to students to improve the training program
  

This workshop also contains a series of distance learning lessons that must be completed to receive credit for the workshop. Upon completion of this course, you will receive 3 credits from Penn State University. These credits can be applied to a bachelors degree in vocational education. This course is part of the UBC Instructor Certification program.
