CITF/NWFA Wood Flooring Installation Certification

This is a 5 day course and the first of two courses in partnership with the National Wood Flooring Association designed to qualify instructors to train and certify in their local areas. This course is a comprehensive overview of industry installation standards, moisture testing, job site evaluation, underlayment conditions, layout procedures, identification of tools and equipment use. There is an introduction to wood flooring products focusing on factory finish and unfinished flooring in strip, parquet and plank products.
This course will also cover wood manufacturing processes, properties of wood, wood characteristics, styles and grading of engineered and solid flooring. During the entire course there is a strong emphasis on hands-on aspects of installation, cutting and fitting techniques, plus fastening systems of nail down, floating and direct glue. Simple borders and designs, feature strips and factory made medallions will be installed. Board replacement techniques will round out the course.
