Prerequisites: CITF/NWFA University and CITF/NWFA Wood Flooring Installation Train the Trainer
This is a 5 day course and the second of two courses in partnership with the National Wood Flooring Association designed to qualify instructors to train and certify in their local areas. Successful completion of the Installation certification course is a pre-requisite which establishes the foundation for this course.
This course focuses on site sanding and finishing with emphasis towards hands-on skills development. Training includes evaluating job site environments, identification of sanding tools & equipment use, sanding techniques including sanding products and their grits, sanding sequence, sanding direction and number of cuts, edging methods and hand scraping. Finishing instruction incorporates preparation, types of application tools, fillers, stains, sealers, and finishes. Troubleshooting for spot repair or imperfections will be addressed along with refinishing and recoating.
