WFED 105 - Integrated Curriculum Implementation

Classes that do not meet the Minimum Attendance Requirements 45 days in advance will be cancelled.


The minimum participants for this course is:  6

WFED 105, WFED 106, and WFED 207 should be completed in numerical sequence. After completing the 105-207 sequence you may take the WFED413 and WFED445 courses.

All participants in this class will receive a book and reading assignment, and must answer questions at the end of each chapter assigned, prior to attending class. The book and assignment will be mailed approximately 3 weeks prior to class. Please email any questions to instructorcertification@carpenters.org.

3 Day, Plus, Distance Learning Lessons Course 

Designed to provide a foundation upon which the student can build a successful career as a technical trainer of apprentices by developing a more thorough understanding of role of teacher. As a result of successful completion of the course the student will be able to: 

  • List and discuss the areas of teacher competence
  • Explain the Five Step system of instruction
  • Define the role of the learner
  • Define the role of the instructor
  • Define the instructional process
  • Explain the role of the occupational analysis in the instructional development process
  • Complete an occupational analysis
  • Divide an occupational area into: jobs, tasks, operations, and related information
  • Develop a program outline
  • Provide an overview of a planned course
  • Develop instructional units for a planned course
  • Develop lesson plans for a planned course
  • Identify the best strategies for a lesson presentation
  • Incorporate effective techniques when presenting a lesson

This workshop also contains a series of distance learning lessons that must be completed to receive credit for the workshop.  Upon completion of this course, you will receive 3 credits from Penn State University. These credits can be applied to a bachelors degree in vocational education. This course is part of the UBC Instructor Certification program.
