Mechanical Insulation

This five-day workshop provides member training on various types of insulation, removal, and installation in a wide range of insulation materials. Facings and accessories are used in mechanical insulation systems and are applied to piping, ducting, storage vessels, and similar equipment in both hot and cold temperature applications. This workshop will describe the various Jacketing and finish materials, and give procedures for their fabrication and attachment. In addition, the various hand tools, power tools, and machine tools used by the UBC carpenter during the installation process are discussed.
