CITF Class Registration


Overhead Crane Operator Practical Test


PREREQUISITES: Must be a UBC member in good standing with the local union, current Certified Rigger and Signaler (CRS), current Overhead Crane Operator Medical Verification Form, and must be at least 18 years old.



Candidates will attend a full-day hands-on practical skills assessment.


To become an Overhead Crane Certified Operator (OCCO), candidates must successfully complete the Overhead Crane Operator Written Test and Overhead Crane Operator Practical Test.


Note: When the following prerequisites expire, the Overhead Crane Certified Operator (OCCO) will go pending until the prerequisites are renewed:

  • Overhead Crane Operator Medical Verification Form [2-year expiration date]
  • Certified Rigger and Signaler (CRS) or Certified Master Rigger and Signaler / Lift Director (CMRS/LD) [4-year expiration date]
