This 5 day workshop will provide a general description of the types, design, components, and installation methods for photovoltaic systems used in various renewable energy applications. We will review classroom presentations to familiarize instructors with solar cell technology, how solar radiation is used for power production, basic electricity, array location and assembly, and to identify industry standards for residential, commercial, and large solar installations. Instructors will utilize several manufacturers’ instruction guidelines to construct typical rooftop and ground mount solar arrays. Instructors will be provided with documents including lesson plans, project drawings and other related materials pertaining to this training.
